THE GRAVES UPDATE
Jeremy, Christina and Nathan Serving in Bible Translation in Oaxaca, Mexico
In one people group in Southern Mexico, there was a man named Samuel who noticed that many people did not understand the Spanish Bible studies and sermons presented in their small congregation.
He decided to do something about it. Despite having only a second grade education, he began translating the Scriptures into his language. When he shared his work in church, suddenly, people became quiet and listened. Women began to cry as they understood the gospel for the first time. Many of them had spent years attending church, but until they heard it in their heart language, they never understood the Good News that Jesus lived, died, and rose again to free us from the bondage of sin and death!
We long to see something like this happen among our Mixtec friends in Northwest Oaxaca! And you can help make it happen! The corn has been harvested and now it’s time for the next step – making the masa, tortilla dough. God has already provided the minimum budget Wycliffe requires for our ministry. As we mentioned in our last email, when our partnership team gives beyond that minimum, it enables us to do more in our ministry – things like partnering with other missionaries in our area, making trips to visit all the villages where the language is spoken, and participating in academic conferences. Would you take a minute to ask God if He would have you join our team through prayer and/or finances?
